What is it about?

›Hörmal Demokratie‹ (Listen to Democracy) is an audio walk with ten stations in the city of Wiesbaden. Each of these places plays a role in our democracy – both in the past and in the present. The stories behind them are told in short audio clips that can be listened to on your own smartphone. They highlight that democracy is not something to be taken for granted, but something that has been and continues to be fought for and defended – right at these very locations.

How does it work?

As you explore Wiesbaden, you’ll find QR codes at every stop along the audio tour that you can easily scan with your smartphone. This allows you to listen to the audio recordings right there on the spot. Our interactive map can also guide you. The content is available in German, English, and simplified German.

World Design Capital 2026

The audio walk ›Hörmal Demokratie‹ is a project that was created as part of the World Design Capital Frankfurt RheinMain 2026. The motto ›Design for Democracy. Atmospheres for a better life‹ inspired cicero Agentur & Verlag to bring places of democracy in Wiesbaden to life through sound, thereby strengthening local awareness of democratic developments both past and present.
